Quick Tune
The Quick Tune feature in DirecTV helps subscribers to get quick access to their favorite channels. Quick Tune can be used in the following way :
- Subscribers need to tune in to their favorite channel.
- Press the Up arrow on the Remote Control.
- A grid of nine square will appear on the TV’s screen where subscribers have to fill in with the desired channel in each square. Altogether, subscribers have to fill with nine different channels in nine squares.
- Use the arrow key to select the first square to fill with the desired channel, then press the Green button on the Remote Control.
- Now the square is filled with the channel number of the channel that subscribers have tuned in to.
- Proceed with above steps for other eight favorite channels and have the own channel guide with favorite channels.
- Quick Tune is available with DirecTV Plus DVR or DirecTV Plus HD DVR.

DVR Scheduler
DVR Scheduler in DirecTV allows subscribers to schedule their home DVR with any mobile phone or PC. There is no need for subscribers to be at home to set the DVR, that can be done from any PC or Mobile phone.
To set the DVR Scheduler proceed with the following steps :
- Subscribers need to register in DirecTV account Online. To register DirecTV account Online, go to directv.com/register
- To connect to the DVR scheduler, subscribers need to log on to directv.com/tvlistings or go to m.directv.com using the mobile phone.
- To record programs, subscribers first need to search for shows and then select the shows to record it.
DirecTV Apps
Subscribers can view their favorite pictures, get updated scores of various sports events, check local weather with the help of the DirecTV Apps, by pressing a single button without missing the program that they are watching.
The following steps describe how DirecTV Apps works :
- Press the right arrow button on the Remote Control to launch TV Apps.
- Select the DirecTV App Store icon at the top of the TV Apps dock and select the apps.
- Subscribers can also go to the online DirecTV App Store on the computer and select browse and then Apps, what they desire to have in that place.
- Whenever subscribers want to access TV Apps, they need to press the right arrow button on the Remote control and select apps on what they want to use.
To enjoy TV Apps, subscribers should have DirecTV Plus DVR receiver (model HR20 and up) or a DirecTV Plus DVR (model R22) or a DirecTV HD receiver (model H21 and H23) that has to be connected to the Internet.
Active Channel
When subscribers press the Active button on the Remote control, DirecTV’s Active Channel will be activated from where subscribers can get a whole host of updated information. The Active channel displays up to the minute information like Weather Forecasts, what’s playing on Pay Per View, Lottery results, Horoscopes and Special offers from DirecTV.
Cleanup DVR Playlist
If subscribers want to clear the DVR Playlist and start a new one, then there is no need for them to delete items in the list one by one. They can clear up all at one time. To Cleanup the DVR Playlist do the following :
- Move on to the Playlist and Press the Yellow button on the Remote Control.
- Select ‘Mark Programs to Delete’
- To navigate, use the arrow buttons and press the select button to choose programs to be deleted.
- Move the Cursor to the right and click ‘Continue’ and then ‘Delete’
Disc Space Warning
If subscribers have less than 10 percent free space in the DVR, then Disk Space Warning Message will appear. To know about the space left in the DVR, view the status bar at the bottom left of the Playlist screen.
DoublePlay
If subscribers don’t want to miss two games relayed at the same time in two different channels, then DirecTV’s DoublePlay feature is there to fulfill their need. DoublePlay feature allows subscribers to view two channels at the same time that will double the enjoyment of the subscriber. This can be done in the following ways:
- Press the down arrow on the Remote Control twice to choose the game of different channel that has to be displayed on the screen.
- Make use of the down arrow to toggle between the two games.
- Subscribers can pause or rewind both games without missing the channel.
