DirecTV On Demand service gives access to thousands of hit shows, sports events and movies including the latest blockbusters in stunning 1080p HD. Subscribers can watch lots of free movies through this service. Apart from free movies, pay-per-view movies and sports events are also available. Subscribers have to pay for pay-per-view options. DirecTV On Demand service changes according to subscribers’ basic package selection. To access DirecTV On Demand service, subscribers must have the following:
- A DirecTV Plus HD DVR Receiver (HR20 or HR21 or newer).
- DVR service.
- If subscribers have a plan to download HD movies, they will need HD access $10/mo (optional).
- Broadband Internet connection with a minimum speed of 750 kbps or higher Internet speed is needed.
- A network router along with an Ethernet port.
- And a self-install connection kit (optional).
Subscribers can search On Demand movies by typing keywords (in terms of actor / actress / genre / title related to the searching content) using TV remote control and the receiver. And the Receiver’s Search Feature can also be used for typing keywords.
Subscribers can record DirecTV on demand Pay-Per-View movie on their DVR receivers. Recorded movies will be deleted automatically from their DVR after 24 hours from the recorded time. If subscribers need adult on demand movies, they can order by tuning into channels 1596 and 1599.
